Le Restaurant Mirazur has earned its reputation with uncommon authority. Perched above Menton, facing the Mediterranean with the mountains at its back and Italy just beside it, it has one of those locations that would be memorable even before a single plate arrives. Then Mauro Colagreco enters the picture and the place rises even further. Since opening Mirazur in 2006, he has shaped it into a landmark of contemporary gastronomy, crowned with three Michelin stars and global recognition that includes the title of World’s Best Restaurant in 2019.  What makes Mirazur so impressive is the depth of its point of view. Colagreco cooks from the landscape around him, drawing on biodynamic and permaculture gardens and building menus guided by harvest, season and light rather than culinary showmanship. The house itself sharpens the experience: a bright rotunda from the 1930s, suspended between sea and sky, with dining rooms that keep the Riviera in constant view. Every detail speaks of craft, discipline and taste. Mirazur feels like the work of a chef who has spent years refining his language until it became unmistakably his own.
