Kras Mat Crêperie
Av. Louis Bertrand 61, 1030 Schaerbeek, Belgium
About
Kras Mat turns Avenue Louis Bertrand into a quick detour to Brittany. A few steps from Saint Servais church in Schaerbeek, Rébecca Saillard and Mélodie Carré took over the former Chabrol space and leaned into what Brussels does best: food with character, served in a room with real bones. Think an Art Nouveau setting with period wood panelling and soft lighting, the sort of interior that makes a weekday lunch feel gently ceremonial. The specialty is the Breton duo of buckwheat galettes and sweet wheat crêpes, made with organic Breton flour, turned minute, aiming for that kraz texture the crisp edge that snaps before it melts. Add seasonal fillings, a glass of Breton cider on tap, and you suddenly understand why people cross town for something as simple as batter and butter.
