About

Frantzén turns dinner into a carefully staged house visit, except the house happens to be one of Stockholm’s most formidable dining addresses. Björn Frantzén’s flagship occupies a three floor townhouse on Klara Norra Kyrkogata, with room for just 23 guests, so the evening feels intimate from the first step through the door. The menu is rooted in Nordic produce but sharpened by Japanese precision, which gives the cooking a distinct signature rather than a vague fusion blur. Guests move from lobby to dining room to loft lounge, while much of the action unfolds around an open kitchen and open fire. It helps that Frantzén also carries serious history: it became the first restaurant in Sweden to earn three Michelin stars in 2018, and it still holds them. For anyone who likes design, choreography, and cooking with exacting control, this is Stockholm with the volume turned all the way up.
