Black Pavilion sits inside Torel Palace Lisbon on Rua Câmara Pestana, high enough for Lisbon to feel like a moving panorama rather than a map. The restaurant’s two best seats are also its two personalities: a terrace with wide city views and cocktails, and a black and white indoor winter garden that feels like a stylish conservatory dropped into the hotel’s greenery.  The kitchen is led by chef Vítor Matos, and the cooking follows his calm, confident logic: approachable dishes, clean product, and a little elegance where it counts. Think veal tartare with truffle, cod pil pil with chickpeas, or a sirloin that begs for a proper sauce choice.  Book it for golden hour and ask specifically for a terrace table or a table in the indoor garden. The light does half the storytelling, and the rest is taken care of by the room’s mood and the plate’s polish.
