About

Pantheon In the very heart of Rome, a short stroll from Piazza Navona, the Pantheon rises with the calm authority of a building that has seen emperors, popes, and an alarming number of selfie sticks. Rebuilt under Hadrian around AD 126, its vast concrete dome remains the largest unreinforced dome on Earth. The oculus, a nine meter eye open to the sky, pours daylight and rain alike onto the marble floor, a reminder that even perfection appreciates fresh air. Once a temple to all gods, now a church and royal tomb, it feels both intimate and imperial at once. Timed entry reservations are generally required on weekends and holidays, and recommended in high season.
