About

On Via Palermo, between Brera and Moscova, Veramente plays a clever Milan game: it dresses nostalgia with just enough polish to make it feel current. The project comes from food entrepreneurs behind Il Mannarino and MiScusi, with the menu developed with chef Andrea Berton, which already tells you this is not an accidental trattoria. The idea is “Italian habits,” and the kitchen leans into recognisable classics from across the country rather than regional purism. Think parmigiana, spaghettoni alla Nerano, handmade pici with ragù finished at the table, and an arancina alla milanese filled with ossobuco and gremolada, a dish with enough Milanese swagger to justify the address. What makes the place memorable is the setting. Veramente has the mood of an Italian living room put through a fashion editor’s filter: ruby red, cream white and bottle green, an open kitchen, vintage photography, and even a vinyl room stocked with more than 450 Italian records from the 1960s to the 1990s. It sounds theatrical on paper and, in practice, lands as warm, sociable and pleasantly self aware. Milan has plenty of restaurants where you eat well. Fewer manage to make dinner feel like a scene worth joining.
