About

The Wolseley has the confidence of a place that has watched London hurry past for a century and never felt the need to chase it. Step off Piccadilly and into a former Wolseley Motors showroom from 1921, designed by William Curtis Green with grand arches and glossy marble that still reads like theatre lighting for breakfast. The room plays the part of a European grand café with brisk choreography: suited regulars, pre theatre tables, quiet power lunches, and a service team that keeps the tempo without turning it into a performance. The menu follows that same cosmopolitan confidence, from early morning classics and kedgeree to schnitzel, steak tartare, and afternoon tea with proper scones and clotted cream. In the background, the kitchen is part of The Wolseley Hospitality Group, overseen at group level by executive chef Charles Hilton. If you want one London address that can do coffee at the marble counter, a celebratory supper, and a polished pause between galleries and Green Park, this is the kind of place that makes the day feel better organised.
