Conceived by hotel impresario Ian Schrager and shaped with monastic precision by architect John Pawson, the building rises in pale stone and glass, its terraces stepping down the hillside like quiet viewing decks over the city. Inside, Pawson’s restrained language of light oak, limestone, and soft daylight feels almost contemplative, an unlikely mood for West Hollywood. The rooftop pool surveys a landscape long associated with rock legends and late night excess, yet the hotel answers with composure. The result feels distinctly Californian: sunlit, confident, and quietly luxurious without ever raising its voice.
