The Union Station Nashville Yards
1001 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, USA — Nashville — United States
About
At the edge of downtown Nashville, The Union Station Nashville Yards rises like a memory from the great age of rail travel. Completed in 1900 for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, the Romanesque Revival terminal was designed by architect Richard Montfort, who favored muscular stone, towers, and theatrical scale. Inside, a soaring barrel vaulted lobby stretches beneath stained glass panels that scatter soft color across carved limestone and polished floors. Trains stopped running decades ago, yet the sense of arrival remains intact. Today the restored station operates as a hotel, but its grand hall still carries the quiet drama of departures, ambition, and the romance of the American railroad age.
