On Denman Street in Soho, The Devonshire plays a clever double act. Downstairs, it is a proper London pub with dark timber, brass glints, and a pavement crowd orbiting a famously fastidious pint of Guinness. Upstairs, the mood tightens and the cooking gets serious in the best way, with a wood ember grill and a menu that treats British comfort as something worth polishing.  The culinary direction comes from Ashley Palmer Watts, with the kitchen overseen day to day by head chef Jamie Guy, and the food leans into the sort of dishes you want when London feels like a film set and you need a plot twist made of gravy.
