Jean Michel Gathy drew on traditional Swiss chalets and pared them back to something sleek, all warm wood, cool stone, and a lobby that glows with a thousand flickering flames. The mood is hushed, almost cinematic, with cigar lounge gravitas and Asian inflections that feel deliberate, not decorative. Once a garrison town at the crossroads of Europe’s great passes, Andermatt now hosts a different procession: skiers, discreet billionaires, and the occasional royal seeking altitude with attitude.
