About
On the 34th floor of InterContinental Sukhumvit, Sanctuary plays a clever Bangkok trick: it makes the city feel quieter without pretending the traffic stopped. The setting is the headline. A biophilic rooftop built from warm timber, bamboo, rattan and dense greenery, shaped to read like a floating boat among trees. Time Out had the same impression. Drinks are where the place shows its personality. The menu splits into four lanes, from Thai botanical “familiar flavourtails” to dessert driven “comfortails” and a daredevil “wildtails” section that toys with ingredients like red ant eggs, giant water bugs and fermented fish. If you prefer your bravery in liquid form, the house signatures turn Thai classics into cocktails, like Mango Sticky Rice or Banana Roti, while food leans into playful, high impact plates: tuna miang kham, beef tongue with phat kaphrao sauce, a Thai wagyu katsu sando, even caviar with white chocolate ice cream. The concept comes from Paper Plane Project Group in collaboration with Taiwan based O’bond, which explains the design obsession and the restless cocktail brain. Sanctuary also picked up a 2025 Restaurants and Bars Design Awards title for Global No.1 Alfresco and Biophilic Design, which feels entirely on brand once you see the space.
