Room 207
207 2nd Ave Back Room, New York, NY 10003, USA
About
Room 207 is the East Village’s new little secret with a very literal address: 207 Second Avenue, with a discreet entrance by 13th Street. Inside, Wid Chapman leans into Prohibition mood without turning it into costume drama: low light, wood paneling, velvet drapes, antique mirrors, and leather chairs, all scaled to an intimate 26 seats. The drinks are the headline. Hemant Pathak, long associated with Junoon, runs a tight program of classics, forgotten cocktails, and playful revisions, often pulling local New York honey into the mix for a city specific twist. Food comes as proper late night fuel rather than polite garnish, overseen by chef Akshay Bhardwaj: think crisp chicken sliders, spice kissed lamb skewers, rarebit style cheese toast, and oysters that make a martini feel like a complete plan.
