About

High above the Saalbach valley, Priesteregg Premium Eco Resort unfolds like a carefully composed Alpine village rather than a conventional hotel. What began as a handful of wooden huts has evolved into a collection of private chalets, each built in the style of historic Pinzgau farmhouses, yet quietly refined with contemporary comfort. Thick timber beams, hand carved details and old wood sourced from dismantled barns give the interiors a sense of age that feels convincing rather than decorative. Privacy defines the experience. There are no corridors, no lobby scenes, just your own house, often with a sauna, freestanding tub and a terrace facing an uninterrupted sweep of mountains. What stands out is the range of these houses. Some lean fully into rustic intimacy, others introduce a more polished, almost spa like aesthetic. Choosing between them becomes part of the pleasure, allowing you to shape the stay to your mood rather than adapting to a fixed concept. The setting does much of the work. In winter, skis glide almost to your door; in summer, the same slopes turn into a network of hiking and biking trails. Food follows the same philosophy. The Huwi’s Alm restaurant leans into regional Austrian cooking with confidence, drawing on produce from nearby farms and the resort’s own sources. Expect dishes that feel rooted rather than reinvented, served in a space that balances rustic weight with a certain Alpine polish.
