Nuss Bar

The bar sits inside Nusara on Maha Rat Road in Bangkok’s old town, across from Wat Pho, and takes its name from his grandmother’s nickname. The concept was developed with Ronnaporn Kanivichaporn of Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar, which already tells you this is a place with serious Bangkok bar pedigree, even if the room prefers charm to chest beating. The house idea is “Thai Sensations,” built around local ingredients and Thai craft spirits, with a short rotating list of seasonal signatures refreshed every three months.  The design helps. Nuss Bar leans into glossy cranberry red, gold accents, velvet seating, glittering lamps and patterned tiles, which could have tipped into theatrical excess but instead feels playful and very Bangkok. Outside, the setting does half the seduction for free: temple silhouettes, old shophouses, herbal medicine shops and the dense historical texture of Tha Tien. Inside, cocktails riff on familiar forms with Thai detail. A Palm Daiquiri sweetened with fresh palm sugar and a Pomelo Paloma sharpened with coriander leaves and local grapefruit juice sound like drinks designed by people who actually cook. That matters.
