About
At Nusara, Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn turns personal memory into one of Bangkok’s sharpest dinner addresses. The restaurant is named after his grandmother, and the food carries that intimacy with unusual precision: Thai cooking with fine dining polish, playful opening bites, then larger dishes served in a family style rhythm that feels generous rather than stiff. The setting does plenty of work too. Nusara sits on Maha Rat Road in historic Tha Tien, with Wat Pho directly across the river, and the room uses olive green tones, gold accents and a quietly elegant mood that lets the view land properly. Michelin highlights dishes such as Thai Wagyu with holy basil and a quartet of regional relishes, which tells you plenty about the kitchen’s ambition: rooted, confident, and very aware that Bangkok has no shortage of competition. This is the sort of place where the city’s old soul and present tense glamour share the same table.
