About

On the quieter eastern side of Mykonos, above the long sweep of Kalo Livadi beach, Nomad Mykonos offers a rare version of the island that predates the DJ booths and champagne theatrics. The hotel is deliberately small, just fourteen suites, arranged like a contemporary Cycladic hamlet around a courtyard shaded by pergolas and rough stone walls. Whitewashed volumes, pale timber and linen soften the architecture, giving the place the feel of a refined beach house rather than a conventional hotel. Days unfold slowly here. Private pools and deep terraces encourage long breakfasts and longer afternoons. The restaurant focuses on elemental Mediterranean cooking, much of it prepared over open fire, with Greek ingredients treated with confident simplicity. As evening falls, lanterns glow in the courtyard and the sea breeze drifts uphill from the bay. In a destination known for spectacle, Nomad succeeds by doing the opposite. It offers space, restraint and a quietly seductive sense of place.
