The house was founded in Paris in 1854, yet this address feels anchored in an even older commercial Paris: dark wood, high counters, glass jars, brass details and walls lined with tea canisters that give the shop the air of a mercantile library. The setting is deliberate. Mariage Frères reopened here in 1983, in the very building tied to its historic offices, turning family history into a retail space with real continuity rather than stage design. Upstairs, the tea room adds ceremony without stiffness. You come for tea, obviously, but stay because the place makes expertise visible, tangible and quietly seductive.
