On rue de Grenelle in the 7th, La Petite Chaise trades on a claim that feels almost indecently Parisian: the same address has been serving food and drink, in its original walls, without interruption since 1680. The room leans into its age but recently got a fresh polish, with a renovation that puts the old bones back in the spotlight rather than turning them into theatre.  In the kitchen, chef Thibaut Repéto steers the ship with a fondness for classic French comfort, sharpened and cleaned up for today.  The menu reads like a greatest hits album you actually want to replay: egg mayonnaise, onion soup, sole meunière, beef tartare, generous sharing cuts.  Come hungry, order something traditional, and enjoy the rare thrill of eating inside a living footnote.
