At the foot of Montjuïc, in Barcelona’s quietly charismatic Poble Sec, Hotel Brummell offers a study in relaxed intelligence. Designed by architect Inma Bermúdez, the building pairs clean Nordic lines with Catalan warmth, all pale wood, handmade tiles and sunlight that drifts in as if on cue. Mornings begin with yoga in the garden or a swim in the small, smug pool before the city stirs. Las Ramblas and the Museu Nacional d Art de Catalunya sit within easy reach, yet the mood remains defiantly local. It feels like staying with a well traveled friend who has excellent taste and very good coffee.
