On Albemarle Street in Mayfair, Gymkhana plays the part of an old Indian members club with total conviction. Walk in and you get jade tones, dark timber, cane work chairs and that low, clubby light that makes lunchtime feel like an occasion. Downstairs, the mood turns warmer and more intimate, with a richer red palette and the quiet confidence of a room built for slow feasts.  The cooking is proudly Northern Indian in spirit, executed with a precision that explains the hush that falls when the food lands. Think tandoori masala lamb chops with real swagger, or kid goat methi keema that tastes like someone has been perfecting the balance for years. The kitchen is currently led by executive chef Jitin Joshi, and the operation runs with the kind of smooth rhythm that lets you focus on flavour, conversation, and the next bite.
