The building itself reflects the confidence of late nineteenth century Madrid. Its elegant façade with wrought iron balconies faces Calle Echegaray, while inside a tall central atrium pulls daylight deep into the structure, a practical yet theatrical architectural gesture typical of urban hotels of the period.
