At 1245 Broadway in NoMad, Ambassadors Clubhouse is the kind of New York opening that feels engineered for appetite and awe. You enter through hefty wooden doors and step into a two level, almost transportive set piece: black anaglypta walls, paisley carpeting, carved woodwork, and chandeliers that lean Tiffany.  The room was designed by North End Design and it comes loaded with personal detail, including references to the Sethi family’s diplomatic past.  The kitchen is Punjabi, led by chef Karan Mittal, with a menu that rewards curiosity: papads shipped from Amritsar, a seven layer samosa, a hot served seafood tower, and the “bbq butter chicken chops” that made the London original famous.  Set the tone with a Punjabi Margarita and let the DJ cut Punjabi classics into the night.
